Information
Refuse collection :
Bins are emptied on a Monday. The council collects every three weeks first thing in the morning and a private company collects two out of three weeks. On Mondays the site supervisor takes rubbish out from the bin cupboards ready for collection. There are large green bins to be used if your bins are too full, two are at the railway top end of the site and two in the bin store in the centre of the estate. Please do not put large items in there when clearing your property, there is a council tip where large items can be taken on the road over to Caernafon (turn left off the A487 just after Dolbenmaen, you can see it on this map as a grey rectangle of concrete in the middle of the map).
For people that can’t take items to the council dump Gwynedd Council operate a bulk collection service, £19 for up to 5 items, contact Gwynedd Council on 01766 771000 There is also a local charity that will collect items of furniture, Cwmni Seren can be contacted on 01766 512512
Recycling :
A new bin store has been built in the middle of the estate which has recycling bins collected every Monday, please follow the guidance on what is to be put in the bins.

- White (00 EE 55)
- Magnolia (08 B 15)
- Nectarine (06 C 33)
- Almond (10 C 33)
- Peppermint (14 C 31)
- Astral Blue (18 E 49)
- Morning Mist (10 A 03)
Many of the colours are already on the Estate and John Chirgwin has made up a sample board of the colours to help as it would be nice to get more colour on the estate, it has gone rather white recently.
Balconies:
The original balcony design leaves large gaps which would be unsafe for children and pets. Historically many different approaches have been used to overcome this. There is now an approved method using modern polycarbonate and railing clips. A copy of the approved method can be found below. If you are considering upgrading please follow this guide or contact to discuss alternative methods.
The balconies are an important design feature of the estate so for everyone’s benefit it is better to maintain a consistent look.
Moorings:
There are 11 wall moorings on the estate on the harbour side. If you would like a mooring please email us info@southsnowdonwharf.co.uk. Each mooring has a ladder to it and a tap and costs £460 from March 1st until 31st October.
Dinghy Park:
Space on the dinghy park is limited and a nominal charge is made depending on size as the fairest way of sharing this scarce resource. Please do not leave a boat on there before first contacting us to see if you can have a space info@southsnowdonwharf.co.uk. A condition on having a spot on the park is providing a key so your boat can be moved if necessary to organise the space better.
